I would recommend the Suzuki but that’s just because I don’t know as much about the Triumph and Aprilia. The GSXR is a fine machine and probably one of the fastest out there. Also if you are anything into upgrades or accessories the Suzuki would probably be the best platform for doing so.

I have a K3 GSX-R1000 and I think it’s probably the best bike out of all I have owned. My friend has an ’04 GSX-R750 and he loves it. Those are all great motorcycles you are thinking of, but I know you will be happy with the GSX-R.

The Triumph. The Speed Triple is without question the world’s greatest hooligan bike and it is powered by one of the world’s truly great motorcycle engines. The sound alone is worth the price.

You don’t have to take my word for it:

The question you first need to answer is what kind of riding will you be doing? As with most bikes, these are set up for very different types of riding.

If you are going to be canyon carving, the Gix is a great bike with minimal upkeep. It is fast, and has a high top end. Built for speed, and corners really well. Hard to find anywhere to really open in up in town though. Very powerful – not a great bike for a beginner.

If you are going to be street fighting, go for the Trump. The Trump is a wheelie machine with a strong mid range, and some of the best brakes available. The pro stunters love them. They are best for riding around tearing up the town. They are also more comfortable for some folks due to the more upright riding position. Very powerful – not a great bike for a beginner.

The Aprilia is similar to the Trump in style, but a brand new ride. It is also a smaller, lighter bike – more on scale with the new Street Triple 675. I’d go for it as a cool beginner bike, with only 76 hp, and nice italian style. Service could be an issue, as the dealer network has been a little shaky.
