What do you think of the Aprilia Mana?

I used to work at an Aprilia dealership and I got to ride one of the first ones we received. It was a very fun bike. It's a blast not having to go through the gears from stop light to stop light. And on top of that the bike is pretty quick. I got up to 60 mph in a few seconds. It really surprised me. I also liked the helmet storage where the gas tank usually is. I could take off my helmet and gloves and store them in front of me before even getting off the bike (very cool feature). You can also choose to use the foot shifter if you feel like some shifting action.

The bad part is I don't think it would be a very good bike for a beginner, the bike is very heavy (with full tank it weighs 507Lbs!) and bulky. And is very hard to man handle if you are not used to motorcycles and two wheels in general.

My conclusion, I would hold off on the Mana until you get some solid bearings on a motorcycle. And if you don't think that is the case, go in and test ride one. If they have a no-test ride policy, tell them you are a VERY serious buyer and your decision is dependent on riding one first. I guarantee they will let you test ride it.
